As calculating as it is unforgiving, this onslaught has a persona and pacing all to its own. If extreme music is the epitome of darkness and insanity, Wormwitch owns this sound.
I always have my ear out for exciting new bands and I believe I found one in Canada’s Wormwitch. Established in 2015, the group’s sophomore effort, Heaven That Dwells Within, is set for release on April 5th via Prosthetic Records.
Wormwitch plays a highly addictive style of black metal which incorporates a lot of different styles including thrash, crust punk and old school death. The end result is a challenging record offering a fiendishly demoralizing assault on the senses.
As calculating as it is unforgiving, the onslaught of Heaven That Dwells Within has a persona and pacing all to its own. If extreme music is the epitome of darkness and insanity, Wormwitch owns this sound. Highlight tracks for me are: “Disciple of the Serpent Star”, “Two Wolves”, “Spirit Braid”, “Benighted Blade”, “Midnight Sun”, “Dancing in the Ashes”, “Lord of Chains” and “Iron Woman”.

If you’re on a quest for evil, look no further than Wormwitch. Their vile outbreak has just begun. Embark on a journey of Medieval myths and magic. Embrace this new wickedness and discover the Heaven That Dwells Within! \m/
