This video itself is a feast for the eyes. Human emotions are at the heart of a message that rings loud and clear. How can a machine ever learn to deal with human anger and aggression?
Testament is a group that really needs no introduction. A thrash metal band from California, the group was originally formed as Legacy in 1983 but then changed their name to Testament back in 1986.
The group has released 13 full length efforts thus far with number 14, Para Bellum, due to hit the streets October 10th via Nuclear Blast Records.
A new music video for the track “Infanticide A.I.” has just been released to hype the effort.
I’ll admit I was dying to see it because upon researching this release, I noticed the song lyrics were included and I must say they are bad ass! Leave it to Testament to keep their offering relevant and to be quite honest, the whole concept of ‘Artificial Intelligence’ is scary to me. How can we program a machine to think like a human being? Song lyrics like: “Machine’s programmed to replace the soul. A false future we cannot control.” This seems to be a target with today’s mentality regarding artificial intelligence. I am fearful we are putting the cart before the horse and are running the risk of losing all necessary restraints.

I especially liked the babies in the tube transitioning to a stroller, the child’s eye at the end of the video is truly disturbing.
Testament is one of the few bands I can think of that seemingly gets heavier with age. I honestly didn’t expect so many blast beats or black metal style riffs but I’m fucking loving it!
Testament is an act that seriously has nothing to prove but they are still proving themselves as one of the most consistent thrash bands ever!
Check out “Infanticide A.I.” and let this radical vision of our future rock you! \m/
