“Ghost On My Screen” is largely a performance offering and it is highly reminiscent of the old school thrash acts we’ve all come to know and love. This video in particular reminds me of an old Master Of Puppets bootleg I once owned presenting the band thrashing out amongst a bunch of crosses.
Although I love all forms of metal, I have to say my favorite has always been thrash. I think it’s because, growing up in the ‘80s, this was the first form of music I could truly call my own. I vividly remember heading to my local record store to grab copies of Megadeth (So Far, So Good, So What?), Anthrax (Among The Living) and Metallica (And Justice For All) the very day they hit the street.
We’d smoke a bowl in my parent’s basement and listen to these albums over and over. When the band’s tour took them to Chicago, we’d hang out in the alley next to the Aragon Ballroom (1106 W Lawrence Ave, Chicago, IL) to ensure we could be close to the stage. Music was everything back then and it still is now…
Dust Bolt is a German thrash metal band from Bavaria formed in 2007. “Ghost On My Screen” is for a new single and music video released by the group in November of last year. I am optimistic this release signifies new material is currently in the works.

This video in particular reminds me of an old Master Of Puppets bootleg I once owned presenting the band thrashing out amongst a bunch of crosses. Dust Bolt has that kind of vibe, a relentless thrash attack that is sure to have you banging your head.
The end of the video depicting the band, under arrest, for moshing out on the top of a parking garage is timeless. It reminds me of the end of Suicidal Tendencies famed video “Trip Of The Brain” except vocalist Mike Muir gets away.
Unfortunately, Lenny Breuss and the boys can’t get away and end up in the slammer! The pinstriped prison jumpsuits are ridiculously timeless!
If you’re into thrash/speed metal, Dust Bolt is a group worthy of your attention. This has tapped into my thrasher’s vein and my blood is shredding! Check out “Ghost On My Screen” and let the haunting riffs of Dust Bolt end up on your video screen! \m/
