The whole offering is designed to get blood flowing. A headbanging masterpiece with the sole intention of getting you pumped up!
Bradley James “Dez” Fafara is polarizing figure in the world of heavy metal.
A vocalist who performs in the metal bands DevilDriver and Coal Chamber.
Dez originally broke into the metal scene as the vocalist for Coal Chamber back in 1992. Their self-titled debut was unveiled in 1997. Coal Chamber’s music has been described as a fusion of nu-metal, alternative metal and gothic metal.
A collaboration with Ozzy Osbourne on a remake of Peter Gabriel’s “Shock the Monkey“, released on the album, Chamber Music, really propelled the group into the spotlight.
Unfortunately, their time was short-lived. Coal Chamber officially broke up in 2003 primarily due to drug use, creative differences, personal conflicts with fontman Dez Fafara, who walked away from the group and formed Devildriver back in 2002.
The name “devil driver” refers to the bells Italian witches used to drive away the forces of evil. The Devildriver logo is based on the ‘Cross of Confusion’, a spiritual symbol which has existed for thousands of years, representing the questioning of religion, authority, and the world around you.
Devildriver has successfully released ten studio albums with number eleven, Strike And Kill, due to hit the streets July 10th 2026 via Napalm Records.
A new music video for the song “Dead In The Water” has just been released to hype the effort. A performance offering with a lot of 360-degree camera angles, which really makes you feel a part of the music. The whole offering is designed to get blood flowing. A headbanging masterpiece with the sole intention of getting you pumped up!
On a side note, Devildriver, now includes guitarist Alex Lee, formerly of Holy Grail. A heavy metal / power metal band active from 2008 to 2016. I’ve interviewed Alex numerous times during Holy Grail’s existence and consider him a friend.
While I was disappointed to hear Holy Grail had hung it up. It’s been awesome to see artists I know personally reach such heights of visibility and greatness. A student of his craft, Alex truly deserves all the accolades he receives.
Check out the music video for “Dead In The Water” and let rampant riffs of Devildriver unleash a flood within you! \m/
