CAGE FIGHT – “Oxygen” - The Metal Channel

Cage Fight has proved once again that they are a force to be reckoned with. If this music video is any indication of the quality of the Exuvia record. I’m sold.

I discovered the group Cage Fight back in 2020 when I saw the music video for “Respect Ends”. Back then I described them as a vicious hardcore/thrash metal band from the United Kingdom. Established back in 202. I am proud to say nothing has changed.

If anything, the band is even better. Offering a more refined approach to their style, which makes the music more unique, recognizable and easily identifiable. What I didn’t know then and that I do know is vocalist, Rachel Aspe, is a former member of a French progressive death metal band called Eths.

I recently got into Eths and even own a couple of their CDs, I like to think of them as female fronted version of Gojira. They split up in 2016, but they were a badass group.

Rachel’s vocal prowess has really developed since Eths released Ankaa back in 2016. Now with her second Cage Fight album, Exuvia, just unveiled back on May 1st via Spinefarm Records, the path for world domination is frighteningly clear.

The “Oxygen” music video is a feast for both the eyes and ears. A powerful performance offering with some disturbing mental hospital style clips thrown in, a clinical vision of life inside a straitjacket comprised of metal. The outfit is stifling, it’s no wonder the character is in a frenzy, trying to claw their way to escape.

I think the paragraph in the opening of this vision says it all, stressing about everything leads to an action of nothing. If not properly dispersed, that anxiety will be the weight world that crushed you.
